A two-yearly event, in 2014 it was the turn of Karup to host the Danish Airshow. The airshow provides the opportunity for the military to demonstrate its strong relationship with the civilian population, and therefore entry to the airshow was free.
Karup 2014, Denmark
The show had a wonderful relaxed feel to it. Although a relatively small show in comparison to some of its European counterparts the variety and quality on offer certainly made up for size.
It was very good to see the depth of military hardware that Denmark has to offer to protect its civilian population and territories. Many of the types on show are rarely seen in the UK, not to mention the historic aircraft.
The Danish Air Force pride themselves on how to put on a tactical demonstration and the public were treated to a number of different set-pieces throughout the day. All were fast-paced and packed with plenty of action.
